FOR ACTORS & PERFORMERS

Industry standard casting headshots & CREATIVE PORTRAITURE

GET NOTICED. GET THE AUDITION. GET CAST.

Headshots for actors need to fulfil very specific requirements. They need to show you as you will turn up for an audition. They need to stand out from the crowd and get you noticed amongst all the other contenders. And they need to be interesting enough for an agent, casting director, producer or director to look long enough to think about you.

There are lots of rules about what you should and shouldn’t do for your casting headshot. But if everyone follows those rules how do you standout?

I like to work with a knowledge of those rules, but the option to push the boundaries a bit, to do something a bit more interesting, something that separates your headshots from all the others.

Bright colours? Interesting lighting? Hands in shot? Looking off camera? Legs?! They’re all fair game.

Of course you need something as your main Spotlight profile image, and that is usually the “safe” tight shot of your face which will first be seen as a small thumbnail. But if you have the option of uploading multiple pictures, why have them all look the same?

An actor’s headshot session is a collaboration – I bring the photographic skills, you bring the acting skills. And somewhere in the middle, when we’re both doing the thing we’re best at, we create work which is more than just a pretty picture of your face.
